Report an accident, incident or near miss
Anyone can report — staff, contractors or visitors. No login needed. The sooner we know, the sooner we can put it right. If someone is hurt, get first aid first.
What happens next — and RIDDOR
Your report is logged instantly and emailed to management, who will review it, put things right and record any action.
You don’t need to work out whether it’s “RIDDOR”. Just report it here and management will assess it and make any formal report to the HSE. Under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR), employers must report certain work-related events, including:
- Deaths and “specified injuries” — e.g. fractures (other than fingers, thumbs, toes), amputations, loss of sight, serious burns, crush injuries, or loss of consciousness.
- Injuries that stop someone doing their normal work for more than 7 days.
- Occupational diseases — e.g. hand-arm vibration syndrome, occupational asthma or dermatitis, carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Dangerous occurrences (“near-misses”) — e.g. machinery failure, collapse, or fire/explosion.
